A Joint Meeting with the Boston Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC)

A special joint meeting of NEASI and the Boston Chapter of the STC on a topic of common interest was held at NEASI's initiative. The meeting was a dinner program held on Wednesday evening, December 13, 2006 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Burlington, MA. The STC Boston Chapter regularly holds a monthly dinner meeting with guest presentations following the meal, and this time NEASI proposed the topic and arranged for the pair of speakers. The speakers, Cheryl Landes and Seth Maislin, are both active members in both the STC (and its former Indexing SIG) and ASI and are experienced technical indexers. Although the majority of the attendees were STC members, rather than NEASI members, this event was a great opportunity to make technical writers (some of whom also index) better aware of issues in indexing.
